This system provides education through both public and private institutions, with the Universitat d'Andorra being the primary public university established in 1997. Since 2019, several private higher education institutions have been introduced, further diversifying the sector. The system is governed by key legislative frameworks, such as the Llei 14/2018 de l’ensenyament superior and the Llei qualificada d'educació (1993).

1. Universitat: The Universitat d'Andorra is the sole public university in the country. Access to higher education in Andorra

Andorran students access higher education after completing at least 12 years of primary and secondary education. Schooling begins at the age of 6 and is compulsory until the age of 16. Students are awarded the Títol de Batxiller upon completing upper secondary education or the Títol de Batxiller Professional after completing vocational secondary education. These qualifications are required for admission to higher education programs.
