The library of the National University of La Matanza (UNLaM) has been operating since 1992, in line with its institutional project of growth and commitment.

On December 12, 2003, the "Leopoldo Marechal" building was inaugurated. It features a silent reading room with a capacity for 120 people, a speaking room with an open library for 500 users, a reference room for consulting encyclopedias, theses, dictionaries, and documents, a virtual room equipped with computers for online and multimedia queries and a sound library for people with visual disabilities. Additionally, it houses over 35,000 copies of various materials and a video library.
