Established in 2000, the Université des Grands Lacs (University of the Great Lakes) is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the metropolis of Bujumbura (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Bujumbura Mairie. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique, Burundi (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Burundi), Université des Grands Lacs (UGL) is a coeducational Burundi higher education institution. Université des Grands Lacs (UGL) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees in several areas of study.
