The Central Library was established since the founding of the Iraqi University in 1989.
It carried out its activities in a small building located on Al-Saadoun Street, then in 1994 it was transformed into another building in Adhamiya.
The library is distinguished by the arrangement and organization of its contents of books and information sources, and it has had a share in the development of Al Iraqia university.
The librarians have extraordinary experiences and specialize in libraries.
In 2016, the Central Library was moved to a new building in the university complex located in the Sabaa Abkar area.
It was keen to serve scientific researchers and provide services to all categories of beneficiaries (professors, postgraduate students, and Bachelor studies students, in addition to the university’s technical and administrative staff).

For women: located in Al-Wairiyah Complex, an off-campus complex consisting of four buildings, each with six floors. The complex has 94 rooms, 8 kitchens, 222 bathrooms, 40 toilets, 201 double beds, and 96 single beds available for students.
