Established in 1970, the University of Nairobi is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Nairobi (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in Kikuyu, Parklands, Lower Kabete, Upper Kabete, Chiromo and Kisumu. Officially recognized by the Commission for University Education of Kenya, University of Nairobi (UoN) is a very large sized (uniRank enrollment range: over-50,000 students) coeducational Kenyan higher education institution.
