Founded in 1955, the University of Benghazi is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Benghazi (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in Ajdabia, Al Kufra, al Marj, Al Abyar, Al Wahat, Gamenes, Soluq and Toukra. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Libya, University of Benghazi (UoB) is a very large sized (uniRank enrollment range: over-50,000 students) coeducational Libyan higher education institution. University of Benghazi (UoB) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
