The Union of Latin American and Caribbean Universities (Unión de Universidades de América Latina y el Caribe or UDUAL) is an organization of universities in Latin America and the Caribbean. It was founded in 1949 and currently has more than 160 member institutions. The organization seeks to promote academic cooperation and exchange among member universities, as well as to contribute to the development of higher education in the region. Some of the activities of UDUAL include organizing academic conferences and seminars, publishing academic journals and offering scholarships and grants to support student mobility and research collaboration among member institutions. UDUAL also advocates for the recognition and strengthening of higher education in the region and serves as a platform for dialogue among its members and with other stakeholders in the field of education.
