Founded in 1911, the Universidade de Lisboa (University of Lisbon) is a for-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Lisbon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Lisboa. Officially recognized by the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, Portugal (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal), Universidade de Lisboa (UL) is a very large sized (uniRank enrollment range: 45,000-49,999 students) coeducational Portuguese higher education institution.
